Album News: M.I.A Releases Album Tracklisting; Hijacks Pitchfork!

M.I.AHaving just released an ultraviolent NSFW video which falls somewhere between Bertolt Brecht and Eli Roth, the U.K’s resident musical-dissident/all-round-icon, M.I.A, has gone ahead and leaked a tracklisting for her still yet-to-be-titled third album, rumoured to be out June on XL Recordings.

Hijacking the Twitter account of influential music webzine Pitchfork earlier this morning, M.I.A posted a series of semi-decipherable statements under the #miap4k hashtag. The one everybody understood, however, was the statement “MIA TRACKLIST FOR LP COMING JUNE ” YET UNTITLED OPEN TO SUGGESTION” followed by a link to a revealing screenshot of her iTunes.

The tentative tracklist – “open to suggestion”, in her own words – seems currently to be ordered as follows. However, knowing M.I.A, this might change a million times before the highly anticipated album hits shelves (which is rumoured to be this June)!

01. The Message
02. Born Free
03. Meds and Feds
04. Lovealot
05. Tequilla
06. It Is What It Is
07. XXXO
08. Tell Me Why
09. Story Told
10. Space
