Photography: Soul Jazz chronicles Haitian Vodou, Sex, Death and Revolution

Soul Jazz Records will release a stunning book this 9th July, chronicling photographic and oral histories of Haiti’s streets. ‘Kanaval: Vodou, Politics, and Revolution on the Streets of Haiti’ combines stunning photographs (by Leah Gordon) with unique oral histories, as well as cultural, historical and anthropological essays. Album News: M.I.A reveals Final Tracklisting and Production for ‘/\/\/\Y/\’

M.I.A has unveiled a handful of new details surrounding her forthcoming album, ‘/\/\/\Y/\’ (pronounced “Maya”). Recorded in Los Angeles, the album features production from Diplo, Rusko, Blaqstarr and Switch, a collaboration resulting in dubstep bass and grinding industrial noise being added to M.I.A’s unique armoury of sounds.
