Video: Flying Lotus and The Golden Filter share Unreleased Music on YouTube

Flying LotusYou gotta love the versatility of the internet. For some, it’s a platform to share every single private moment of one’s life. For others, it’s a platform to remain as esoteric and mysterious as ever: sharing bites of material on one’s own terms, to the ever-hungry masses.

L.A beats genius, Flying Lotus, and Brooklyn electronic duo, The Golden Filter, definately fall into the latter category. And both have proven why this week, casually sharing previously unreleased material on YouTube, with little explanation. Just because.

First came Flying Lotus, sharing the previously unreleased track “Heave (n)”. Presumably an offcut from the ‘Cosmogramma’ sessions, the electronic prodigy dropped a link to the song on Twitter, saying only “I forgot to give you this…”.

Then came The Golden Filter, releasing the track “Memorial Day” on America’s public holiday of the same name (May 31st). Apparently written and recorded in the Summer of 2007 (pre-Golden Filter), the song is accompanied by grainy, home-footage of a family in their swimming pool.
