MP3: Matthew Dear – “Little People (Black City)”

Matthew Dear
We last checked in with avant-pop/electronic trailblazer Matthew Dear only a few weeks ago, when we shared an mp3 of his track “I Can’t Feel” from new album, ‘Black City’.

Since then, the album’s become a sensation of sorts. Critics are wigging out over its visionary dance-noir and moody mise-en-scène, and fans are falling over themselves, trying to buy the record in its surreal “totem” format.

So we thought we’d invite y’all back to Dear’s imagined metropolis by giving away a free mp3 of the album’s spooky centrepiece, “Little People (Black City)”. With its gaping void of a beat and Dear’s Bowie-esque vocals, this is dance music for replicants and electric sheep; synthetic sounds so infectious and vital, they’ll make you question your very humanity.

Dance. Indulge. And don’t forget to pick up your copy of one of this year’s most essential electronic releases!
