Video: Matthew Dear explores ‘Black City’ in Video Teasers
With the release of his new album ‘Black City’ just around the corner, Matthew Dear has given fans a taste of what to expect with a series of Behind The Scenes and teaser videos.
In the first teaser video, Dear offers samples of the atmospheric tracks from across ‘Black City’, while treating viewers to sleek, future-noir visuals inspired by the album’s artwork.

In the second, we are taken behind the scenes with the craftsmen responsible for producing the ‘Black City’ limited edition Totems. Currently being sold at Ghostly International’s webstore, the items were conceptualised as a sculptural representation of the themes explored in Black City and a symbolic conduit to the music itself. For more info on the nature of this distinctive (and highly limited) collectable, head to Ghostly International’s website.
The third video is a simple, single shot of a totem being born – overlayed with Matthew Dear’s moody track, ‘Honey’.
An aural, visual, physical, and conceptual experience, Matthew Dear’s ‘Black City’ is promising to be one of the most unique electronic records to hit shelves in years. Make sure to download the free mp3 of “I Can’t Feel” before the whole album arrives later this month.
Matthew Dear’s ‘Black City’ is out 12th August on Ghostly International through Inertia
