Stream: Listen to Bridezilla’s stunning new single, “Hey Girl”
Dizzying Sydney five-piece, Bridezilla, have announced their much awaited return with the digital release of a new single “Hey Girl”, out this 19th November on iTunes. The stunning new track see’s the front-woman debut of usual saxophonist and keyboardist Millie Hall.
Recorded by Ryan Hazell at the scenic New South Wales central coast, the track was born from a phone conversation. Hall explains: “The composition of the song begun with the vocal melody, when I was walking around the city one day. I had 3 groovy guys with deep voices singing the verses, in my head… the song is pretty much a telephone call reappropriated into a song”.
With a new sense of groove added to their unique wandering folk and fragile pop, Hall explains that the groups’ love of rhythm and blues influenced “Hey Girl” – and much more of their new material. “All of us listen to r’n'b a lot so we enjoyed writing a song that leaned toward that genre. We’ve got some more alike up our sleeves.”
