Album: The Twilight Singers to release first full-length in five years
The Twilight Singers are set to release their first album in over 5 years. ‘Dynamite Steps’ marks the return of one of rocks greats, exploring the thin line between life and death, mortality and immortality, resignation and celebration—that mythical moment when your life flashes before your eyes, drawn out here over the course of eleven songs.
The album was “shot on location” at various locales significant to Dulli’s life. You can hear the sense of place emanating up from the grooves: here, the weary night time decadence of New Orleans rubs up against the oppressive sunshine of Los Angeles and the desolation of Joshua Tree’s desert vistas. Various guests make contributions to the album including: Ani DiFranco, Joseph Arthur, Petra Haden, Nick McCabe (The Verve), and of course Mark Lanegan.
The Twilight Singers will announce their worldwide tour plans for 2011 shortly.
In the meanwhile check out ‘Blackbird and the Fox’ the first single from the album:
‘Dynamite Steps’ is due out on 14th Feb 2011 through Sub Pop via Inertia
