Album: Does It Offend You, Yeah? to release explosive new full-length
British electro punks Does It Offend You, Yeah? are set to return with their long awaited second album, ‘Don’t Say We Didn’t Warn You’ on March on Pod.
With lead track, “The Monkeys Are Coming”, already proving an instant hit at Triple J, the group are laying the groundwork for what promises to be their most relentless and energetic album yet.
The British band broke onto the world’s stage in 2008 with their debut ‘You Have No Idea What You’re Getting Yourself Into’, which saw the band become the ninth most-listened-to new band of 2008 on last.fm and led to them being crowned as Rolling Stone’s ‘Breaking Artist’ in the same year.
The group have performed alongside Bloc Party and Nine Inch Nails, joined Prodigy on their 2009 Australian tour, and have had outrageous slots at Coachella, Lollapalooza, South By Southwest, Glastonbury, Reading/Leeds and countless other international festivals.
An album that surprises and astounds at every turn, ‘Don’t Say We Didn’t Warn You’ was compiled from the “million” songs that DIOYY self-recorded over six months in a tiny studio in Reading towards the end of 2009. The erratic recording sessions included a month’s stint in keyboardist Dan Coop’s dad’s house where James “blew up the microwave” to record the explosion.
