New Signing: Odd Future’s Tyler The Creator joins XL; performs on Jimmy Fallon!

Tyler The CreatorHaving spent 2010 as one of the world’s hottest unsigned acts, Tyler The Creator has signed a deal with XL Recordings to release his forthcoming album, ‘Goblin’, this April!

The ringleader of controversial teenage hip-hop clique, Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All (aka. Odd Future), Tyler The Creator offered his debut album ‘Bastard’ for free online in 2009/10 (download here). The album became an internet phenomenon, clocking thousands of downloads and earning the crew countless profile pieces, including L.A Weekly.

Of the signing, Tyler has made clear it will in no way jeopardise his style: “Yes, I Did A One Album Thing With XL. Thats Family. Don’t Trip, Still Have %100 Creative Control Over Raps, Beats, Videos, Covers. Fuck You.”

To coincide with the annoucement, Tyler released this sick, twisted, self-directed video for his new single, “Yonkers”.

He also made his TV debut on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, performing “Sandwiches” with Hodgy Beats. Look out for an excited Mos Def making a cameo at the end! Swag.
