Video: Adele explains ’21′ track by track

British soul/pop singer and double-Grammy winner Adele has just released her second album, ’21′. In this video she breaks it down song by song, starting with the hit single “Rolling In the Deep.”

“It’s my reaction to being told my life was going be boring and lonely and rubbish, and that I was a weak person if I didn’t stay in a relationship. I wrote it as a sort of ‘Fuck you’,” says Adele. As someone noted in the YouTube comments, Adele makes swearing sound classy.

She goes on to share some insight into the effects of her newfound stardom on her life and her songwriting. There’s also a good dose of hearbreak, the sort that seems to be an essential ingredient in any good soul album. Having Rick Rubin behind the boards doesn’t do any harm either.
