Stream: Destroyer performs live on KEXP

DestroyerCanadian indie rock legend and New Pornographers member, Dan Bejar (aka. Destroyer), recently paid a visit to the studios of Seattle’s KEXP 90.3 FM to perform four tracks live on air.

The band performed two tracks from thew album ‘Kaputt’, “Downtown” and “Song for America”, as well as “Painter in Your Pocket” from ‘Rubies’ (2006), and “Certain Things You Ought to Know”, from ‘Your Blues’ (2004).

Stream the entire set by visiting the KEXP website.

Already being touted as one of 2011’s finest albums by the likes of Pitchfork and TinyMixTapes, ‘Kaputt’ represents the crowning artistic achievement of the veteran’s career to date. Appropriating the oft-maligned signifiers of the 1970s and 80s – from new wave and glam rock to smooth jazz  and adult contemporary – it transcends the kitsch and emerges as a work of depth, wisdom, cynicism and hope.

Destroyer’s ‘Kaputt’ is out 15th April on Pod through Inertia.
