Album: The Antlers announce ‘Burst Apart’ for May release
Following their acclaimed Australian tour in February, Brooklyn indie-rock trio The Antlers will release their new album ‘Burst Apart’ this 13th of May on Pod through Inertia.
A follow up to their 2009 critically acclaimed album ‘Hospice’, which saw the group invited to open for The National and perform at the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, ‘Burst Apart’ is a departure from their previously established melancholy, darker tone. “Hospice was kind of all-encompassing for a while and Burst Apart feels like us moving on from it. Not to abandon it, but to keep it in its place and figure out what’s next” says Silberman.
After touring across the globe, the trio developed a greater interest in electronic music. The band’s goal for this record was to draw upon those sounds while still employing classic songwriting structures. Imbued with seductive guitars, taut rhythms, and hypnotizing melodies, ‘Burst Apart’ is introspective and animated.
