MP3: Memory Tapes – “Today Is Our Life”

Memory Tapes

Our unwavering, borderline-pathological obsession with the man known as Memory Tapes has been well-documented. In fact, his 2009 album ‘Seek Magic’ still regularly weaves its spell from its permanent fixture in the Inertia stereo (“Bicycle”, right?!)

So we’re absolutely stoked to announce that we’ll be putting out his sophomore album, ‘Player Piano’, on July 1st. While we don’t wanna spoil too many of the surprises just yet, but it’s a huge progression from the bedroom electronics of yesteryear. In fact, Mr. Tapes himself is referring to it as “keyboard-based psychedelic girl-group songs”. And if that description fries your brain, just wait until you hear it played out in stereo.

Whet your tastebuds with this early version of “Today Is Our Life”, which appeared on a free Guardian compilation earlier in the year. An alternate version will appear on the album, but you’ll just have to wait for that…
