Tour: Ty Seagall announces Australian shows in July
Popfrenzy have announced the debut Australian tour of San Francisco’s Ty Segall this July. These long-awaited shows will follow hot on the heels of the release of the new album, ‘Goodbye Bread’, on 24th June.
For the last six years, Ty has made a name for himself cranking out the kind of rowdy ear-splitting, lo-fi garage punk rock that makes the White Stripes sound like something you’d buy for Grandma.
The very wonderful ‘Goodbye Bread’ is the follow up to 2010’s much-hyped ‘Melted’. Yes, it’s mellower and more psychedelic pop than past chest-hair-frying expeditions, but it’s still reliably weird, reverb drenched and catchy as hell with a dark, sarcastic twist to it.
A favourite of SXSW 2011, Ty and his band will be touring Australia for the first ever time this July.
Watch Ty play the album’s mellow title track in the bathroom at Cake Shop thanks to The Tripwire.
