Video: The Antlers and Neon Indian record eight-minute collab
It’s been a week of odd collaborations. First we witnessed Cyndi Lauper join Arcade Fire on stage. Now, thanks to pitchfork.tv, we have video of Brooklyn indie upstarts The Antlers and chillwave knob-twiddlers Neon Indian’s eight-minute re-imagining of “Rolled Together” – a track from The Antlers’ new album ‘Burst Apart’.
It turns out The Antlers have been inviting a few other artists to play in their studio because they discovered that the space had a profound effect on the recording of the new album. Pter Silberman revealed to Pitchfork that, “The space itself was such a strong influence on the sound and nature of Burst Apart that we felt like we should bring in some friends to see if that feeling carried over to them. The day went even better than we could have imagined.”
Bear In Heaven and Nicole Atkins have also been to the studio to share the love. Watch this space for any news on further collaborations. For now, you can head over to pitchfork.tv to enjoy The Antlers and Neon Indian’s version of “Rolled Together”.
