News: Inertia tops ARIA Charts with Adele and Bon Iver

AdeleInertia dominated the Australian charts this week, with Adele‘s ’21′ still holding down the top spot on both the ARIA album and singles charts and Bon Iver‘s self-titled second album coming in at number two.

Adding to her reign, Adele also holds the # 4 spot with her previous single ‘Rolling In The Deep’ and her debut album 19 sits at # 9 on the ARIA album chart.

Steve Cross, co-founder of Adele’s Australian label Remote Control, comments: “To simultaneously occupy the # 1 position on the album and singles charts is a rare result for any artist and any company; all the rarer for an artist on an independent label.  To have two singles and two albums in the Top 10 demonstrates the extent to which Australia has warmly embraced Adele and her music.”

Bon Iver celebrated similar success in the USA, where he debuted at #2 on the Billboard charts with 104 000 copies sold!
