News: Girls tease new release with mysterious widget

GirlsSan Francisco slacker-pop duo Girls (Christopher Owens and Chet “JR” White) have put a mysterious new widget on their Facebook page, hinting at what we can only hope is the  new album.

Just in case you’ve been living in a particularly unhip Amish community for the past couple of years and somehow missed the Girls phenomenon, then here’s a quick recap. They’re two guys from California. They’re best friends. One of them grew up in the Children of God cult. Now they write hazy, effortless, sunny slacker-pop have been compared to Elvis Costello, Buddy Holly and The Beach Boys.

You can check out the new widget below. The band haven’t yet made it yet whether the words that appear represent lyrics, a tracklisting or something else entirely. We’ll update with any new info as it comes to hand. Watch this space.
