Stream: M.I.A shares track in memory of Amy Winehouse
On Sunday, just a day after Amy Winehouse was found dead in her London home, M.I.A. posted an unreleased track, “27″, as a tribute to her friend.
The UK artist and activist tweeted, “i recorded this song B4 vickileekx and never put it out. its a unfinished demo. R.I.P A.M.Y.”
The song is dedicated to all her friends that died at 27. Other artists who famously passed at that same age include bluesman Robert Johnson, Rolling Stones founder Brian Jones, the legendary Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and of course Kurt Cobain.
