Stream: Mark Pritchard remixes Radiohead!
UK-born, Sydney-based producer extraordinaire Mark Pritchard, most recently known as Harmonic 313 and one half of Africa Hitech, has done two remixes of Radiohead’s “Bloom”. The two remixes are available now, along with a Nathan Fake remix of “Morning Mr Magpie”.
Pritchard has been playing a lot of juke and footwork for a while now, both as a DJ and as part of Africa Hitech. The first of his “Bloom” remixes clearly reflects this, with the franticly paced drums driving the track along. However the track also somewhat subdued, with an almost 8-bit feel that would sit well with fans of Nintendo and Suicide alike.
The second of Pritchards mixes, the Harmonic 313 remix, has the ambient-meets-detroit sound we’ve come to expect from the 313 moniker. The track is deep and blissed out; the vocal seems to melt into the track, becoming almost indistinguishable from the synth, as the sounds of bubbling water wash in and out of the mix. You can listen to both remixes below.
