The War On Drugs – “Baby Missiles”
Philly band The War On Drugs have taken a lengthy four years to get their new album, ‘Slave Ambient’, together. After a few line-up changes – including the departure of original member Kurt Vile – the band are finally ready to unleash the follow up to 2008’s ‘Wagonwheel Blues’.
The first track to emerge from the album, “Baby Missiles”, is boss. Literally. The Springsteen references are paramount, with that aching sense of driving nostalgia injected with bouts of harmonica and synth for good measure. It’s as refreshing as it is classic. Let it take you on the open road through working-class America.
