MP3: Neon Indian – “Fallout”

Neon Indian

Neon lights may burn bright, but without the dark streets that engulf them they’d barely catch the eye. And that’s the vibe you get listening to the new track from Neon Indian (aka Alan Palomo); a flare in the darkness.

“Fallout” is a shadowy departure from the summery tunes that adorned 2010′s ‘Psychic Chasms’. But the impact is undeniable, with the midnight synths playing out like the soundtrack from some post-apocalyptic John Hughes film (“Ferris Bueller’s Day Of The Dead”, perhaps).

The track is taken from his forthcoming album, ‘Era Extraña’, available this September. You can also get a taste of the record with this video for “Heart: Decay” (part two of a haunting, three-part instrumental which runs throughout).
