News: SPIN list the best albums of 2011 (so far)… Inertia dominates!

Fleet FoxesAs we reach the last third of 2011, long-running indie music mag SPIN have published their list of the Top Albums of the Year (So Far).

The list includes many amazing Inertia titles, including Fleet Foxes‘ ‘Helplessness Blues’, Adele‘s ’21′ and Bon Iver‘s brilliant self-titled second album.

Other albums that made the list are ‘David Comes to Life’ by Canadian rockers Fucked Up, Kurt Vile‘s hazy ‘Smoke Ring for My Halo’, tUnE-yArDs‘ ‘whokill’ and Animal Collective member Noah Lennox’s fourth album as Panda Bear, ‘Tomboy’.

Also included in SPIN’s best of 2011 were Danish punk rock outfit Iceage with their short but energetic full-length, ‘New Brigade’. Chillwave man-of-moment and blog favourite Ernest Greene, aka Washed Out, makes an appearance with his first official album, ‘Within and Without’, while Ty Seagall gets a mention for his weird and wonderful ‘Goodbye Bread’.

The last of the Inertia titles to make SPIN’s list were The War On Drugs‘ ‘Slave Ambient’ and UK musician/producer SBTRKT‘s self-titled debut.
