Video: Watch Destroyer perform live at Pitchfork Music Festival; rare interview!

DestroyerLive footage of enigmatic Canadian performer, Destroyer (aka. Dan Bejar of New Pornographers), taken at the Pitchfork Music Festival shows the veteran and his band performing an arousing rendition of their 2011 favourite, “Chinatown”.

Taken from Destroyer’s universally acclaimed album, ‘Kaputt’, the rendition employs synth, sax and Bejar’s unmistakably wise vocals.

Bejar also sat down for a rare interview musing over the technicalities of performing live, cherry picking for a set, never trying to write a song and admitting band practice isn’t his most favoured past time!

If you haven’t already be sure to watch the music video for “Savage Night at the Opera” featuring a breathtaking motorbike ride through the streets of Dans hometown Vancouver in a  homage to Claude Lelouch’s 8 minute high revving Paris dawn drive in ‘Rendez-vous’.
