News: Rustie win Guardians ‘First Album’ award

Rustie ProfileRustie has won the Guardians ‘First Album’ award for his debut offering ‘Glass Swords’.

In doing so he beat out many 2011 favourites including James Blake, Katy B, SBTRKT and The Vaccines.

The Guardian said of the album “Rustie constantly chases the next thrill, with rhythmic switch-ups and vivid synths firing in all directions as the album twists, turns and veers off at tangents.”

Many praises and accolades were given to the intrinsically powerful electronica with Pitchfork, FACT, NPR, Resident Advisor and many more counting it as “An undeniable and up to the minute rush”.

Rustie will be out in Australia for the Playground Weekender Festival.
