News: HEALTH to soundtrack video game

HEATHIt’s not everyday you get asked to soundtrack a popular video game, let alone when you are a noise rock band like that of HEALTH.

The company behind the overly successful Grand Theft Auto series has commissioned the LA band to write the original music for Max Payne 3, while tough São Paulo MC Emicida will also contribute some tunes.

A comment from the band outlined just exactly why they went forward with the project;

“Video games are redefining entertainment and whether people like it or not, they are becoming as culturally relevant as films,” said the band’s Jake Duzsik. “We feel that Rockstar’s projects have an undeniably raw and tasteful aesthetic. It’s vitally important to us that we be involved in things we respect artistically. Max Payne 3 has a complex story that unfolds mercilessly and we are excited to be a part of it.”
