Tour: The Lumineers to visit Australia for the first time!

Denver folk outfit The Lumineers will make their debut Australian tour in March 2013 when they play dates in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Tickets are on sale now.

They may have only come to global attention this year with the release of their acclaimed self-titled debut album and its smash single, ‘Ho Hey’, which with over 13+ million YouTube views has topped both the Billboard Rock and Alternative charts in the States, but The Lumineers are anything but an overnight sensation. Indeed, years of graft and toil have gone into establishing the trio’s distinctive Americana aesthetic, a sound as alluring as it is uncomplicated.

Many have found commonality between The Lumineers and acts like The Avett Brothers and Heartbreaker-era Ryan Adams in the way that they float beautiful narratives over sparse beds of old-timey instrumentation, with banjo, cello, mandolin and piano giving the band their earthy, organic veneer. In a world besotted with the old-time charms of acts like Mumford And Sons there’s clearly a place in the scene for the effortless camaraderie, class and authenticity of The Lumineers.

Sydney – WED 27 MARCH, METRO THEATRE
Melbourne – FRI 29 MARCH, THE CORNER HOTEL
Brisbane – SAT 30 MARCH, THE HI FI
