Stream: Hear Hanni El Khatib’s new single ‘Family’

Hanni El KhatibRolling Stone have premiered the new single from Californian garage rocker Hanni El Khatib. ‘Family’ is the first song from Khatib’s forthcoming album, ‘Head in the Dirt’.

The new album was produced by Black Keys frontman Dan Auerback. Khatib and Auerback met at a bar in Paris and hit it off immediately. “A friend owns a bar in Paris and introduced us when I was deejaying after a show. He went deep into music and started dropping knowledge about all these obscure LA bands. We ended up going back and forth deejaying all night,” Khatib told LA Weekly.

‘Head in the Dirt’ is the follow up to 2011′s ‘Will The Guns Come Out’, a fusion of blues, 50′s pop, punk and garage rock. Khatib recorded the new album in Dan Auerback’s Nashville studio and says it’s another dose of “’60s garage but without nostalgia”.
