News: Indie-pop outfit Family Of The Year to release new album ‘Loma Vista’!
LA based indie-pop outfit Family Of The Year have announced details of their new album ‘Loma Vista’, set for release this 17th May on Nettwerk through Inertia.
Family Of The Year— Joe Keefe (vocals, guitar), Sebastian Keefe (drums, vocals), James Buckey (guitar, vocals), and Christina Schroeter (keyboards, vocals), have compiled 14 songs with producer Wally Gagel (New Order, PJ Harvey), one-half of production/songwriting team WAX LTD. This is the first time that the band has worked with a producer and ventured outside their own camp to release their music.
“When we were recording, we were all living together in a small one-bedroom apartment in Silver Lake on a street called Loma Vista,” says Schroeter regarding the album title. “We were around each other pretty much 100% of the time, whether it was at the studio, the practice space, the bars, or the apartment. We lived in our own little world for a while and other than making music and having fun, nothing else really mattered.”
After years of “cohabitating” in a run-down house and relying on each other for inspiration and support, members of the band have formed unbreakable bonds that are undeniable in their infectious live performances and song writing. ‘Loma Vista’ sees Family Of The Year combining soft harmonies, comforting guitar chords and toe tapping beats. The album follows the critical success of last year’s ‘St. Croix’ EP; heralded by NPR as “ebullient, full of stylistic left turns” and “intense and atmospheric” by Rolling Stone.
‘Loma Vista’ is due out May 17th on Nettwerk through Inertia
