News: Boards Of Canada premiere lead track “Reach For The Dead” and release new video!
Following high anticipation, Boards of Canada have released “Reach For The Dead” the lead single from their upcoming album, ‘Tomorrow’s Harvest’, out 7th June on Warp Records through Inertia.
“Reach For The Dead” was premiered in the UK by Zan Lowe on BBC Radio 1 and the track’s video debuted on a large screen located in downtown Tokyo.
‘Tomorrow’s Harvest’ follows Boards Of Canada’s previous work with a deliberate palette underpinned by a wealth of cultural and political references beyond a linear narrative. Early influences cited by the band range from Industrial to Post Punk, New Wave to Hip Hop, Prog to Folk, but Boards of Canada have sought to create something unique and authentic on ‘Tomorrow’s Harvest’, understanding that music is not a study in its form, but in its essence.
From pulsing, evolving analogue chords, thick kicks build towards cataclysmic events. It is a powerful album throughout, heavily charged and at times unrelenting – but the characteristic emotional maturity of this music comes in a rooted understanding of harmony, as the weight gives way to an optimistic final chord – after extinction, a resurrection.
