The Head And The Heart share new track
Seattle indie-folk The Head and the Heart have shared “Shake”, a track from their forthcoming album, ‘Let’s Be Still’.
The Head and the Heart formed back in 2009 and the six members soon went from busking on street corners to playing local clubs and eventually signed to hometown label Sub Pop Records in 2011. Their debut album soon became one of the label’s best-selling debut records in years, with The Head and the Heart selling out shows around the US.
The new album, ‘Let’s Be Still’ is a reflection of all the changes that have happened to the band in just four short years. “The first record was written and recorded with a lot of limitations. It’s almost easier that way,” says bassist Chris Zasche. “This time around, with more time and resources, there were few limitations, so we had to be in charge of keeping a focus and not getting distracted but at the same time exploring the options available. It wasn’t easy, but from this I think a clearer, more focused record has been made.”
Recorded in Seattle, ‘Let’s Be Still’ was mixed in Connecticut by Peter Katis (National, Interpol) who helped to bring out the vibrant energy of the band’s live performances.
