Electronic Mastermind Caribou Releases New Single Ahead Of New Album

You reach a point in life where the question of how to stay at the top of your game looms; the only real solution being, you change the game. ‘Our Love’, the new album from Caribou, is the sound of Dan Snaith doing just that. Set to be released on Friday 3rd October 2014 on City Slang via Inertia, this will be the sixth studio release from the Canadian artist and will feature collaborations with Jessy Lanza and Owen Pallett.

‘Our Love’ is formed around a mixture of digital pop production, hip hop inspired beats, muted house bass lines and a love of shuffling garage, with warm analogue sounds of classic soul that weave themselves most intensely into the records DNA. ‘Our Love’ is already being cited as Caribou’s most soulful record to date, chock-full of heartfelt lyrics which cut through blissful euphoria and bubbling synths. It’s not all downbeat of course, whilst some thoughts linger on mortality, loss and letting go, there is always an element of celebration. Game = changed.

The lead single “Can’t Do Without You” has been released, and if it’s anything to go by (it is), the album is sure to be huge.
