Liberation
All Tomorrows Partie
INDIE
Portland, Oregonbased improvisational genius of JACKIE O MOTHERFUCKER filter numerous musical genres (avantgarde, electronic music, folk, country, world music, spirituals, etc.) through their noisy, psychedelic scrape and grind. Formed by core members TOM GREENWOOD and JEF BROWN, who both contribute to the band on a variety of instruments, J.O.M. also relies on the contributions of sax players JOHN FLEMING and NESTER, drummer JESSE CARROT, guitarist HONEY OWENS and ANDY CVAR.
Liberation, saw light in 2001, and has superior production, and marks the bands slow move towards more songorientated, or rather, more looselycomposed material. Its dreamier, definitely a transitional record.
Liberation was rated the Best AvantRock record for 2001 by WIRE.
Recent supports to THE BOREDOMS, SONIC YOUTH, GODSPEED YOU BLACK
EMPEROR and LIGHTNING BOLT.
PITCHFORK MEDIA The consistently amazing quality of JackieO Motherfucker is their ability to colour experimental music and noise with more candor and emotional sophistication than most turtlenecked troubadours. LA WEEKLY Songs that contain whole arcs of emotion and that sound, thrillingly, like nothing else youve ever heard.
