Great new album on WARP\'s avant hip hop offshoot LEX RECORDS... ANDY BRODER released his last album for LEX under the name HYMIE\'S BASEMENT (a collaboration with YONI WOLF). \'10th Avenue Freak Out\' is his new album under the name FOG and is a continuation of that Hymie\'s lofi experimental rock sound.
This album consists of thirteen full songs recorded by TOM HERBER, the engineer behind the sound of indiegiants LOW, and Hymie\'s Basement. The songs are reminiscent of JIM O\'ROURKE, EUTRAL MILK HOTEL and recent WILCO. Fog has recently recorded a remix for the new Low single and a ew song with Lex supergroup SUBTLE, just to underline his impeccable indie credentials. On \'10th Avenue...\', Broder has expanded his sound further, with lyrics that have newfound depth and complexity, arrangements instead of sprawl and a greater sense of urgency, both poetic and olitical, than his previous work.
The album is packaged in a beautiful EHQuestionmark designed custom soft pack.
