> \'Keepintime\' is an amazing collaborative project involving rhythm masters old and new conceived and realised by photographer filmmaker and writer BRIAN CROSS.
> More commonly known as B+, Cross is a true lover of hip hop, his work includes the essay on the LA scene \'It\'s Not About a Salary\' and video for DJ SHADOW\'s \"Midnight In A Perfect World\".
> Fascinated with fundamental element \'the break\', he imagined bringing together and photographing legendary LA drummers: ROY PORTER, EARL PALMER, PAUL HUMPHREY and JAMES GADSON who between them have played with everyone from CHARLIE PARKER, JAMES BROWN, JOHN COLTRANE and MARVIN GAYE through to FRANK ZAPPA, DAVID AXELROD, FRANK SINATRA and BECK.
> The shoot took place in 2000 with the likes of DJ Shadow in attendance and members of the BEAT JUNKIES and CUT CHEMIST on hand to jam with Humphrey and Gadson.
> The fruits of this meeting were captured by B+ on film and \'Keepintime: Talking Drums Whispering Vinyl\' toured the film festivals of the world to considerable acclaim.
> DJ Shadow also used it as the introduction to his acclaimed \"The Private Press\" tour. A live drum and turntable jam featuring MADLIB and NUMARK (JURASSIC 5) also took place these unique events are captured here for the first time on DVD (running length 120 mins)
> The CD version is the result of tracks from the live show sent to the world\'s finest producers to rework. The 13 tracks feature new work from DJ SHADOW, MADLIB, KING BRITT, CUT CHEMIST, CHARLIE DARK (BLACKTRONICA/ATTICA BLUES), AMMONCONTACT, QUANTIC SOUL ORCHESTRA, O.H.N.O., ERIC COLEMAN, DAEDELUS, NOBODY, DJ NUTS and JROCC.
> The result is a unique and quite wonderful meeting of the masters of rhythm.
