\'Illuminated By The Light\' is a paradox, a riddle, an explosion of sighs, sneers and sniffs, digitally mastered together as one single, seminal, spasm of energy. Weird War began as a supergroup of the MAKE-UP\'s IAN SVENONIUS and MICHELLE MAE, and ROYAL TRUX\'s NEIL HAGERTY after the members\' main projects dissolved. Weird War (née SCENE CREAMERS) have re-grouped and re-conjured once again after last year\'s startling, scary and critically psychosed \'If You Can\'t Beat \'Em, Bite \'Em\' (URA118). Though recorded at the same studio (Key Club), the two records will look at each other from within the bin as suspicious progeny do, each doubting the paternity of the other. Instead of the dark and fuzzy psych stomp of \'...Beat \'Em\' or the down home agit-poetry of \'I Suck On That Emotion\' (URA083), Weird War have begun to explore the esoterica they hinted about last time, but this time with a leaner, cleaner chassis which features new group-member, super drummer SEBASTIAN THOMSON (of TRANSAM/TRANS CHAMPS/FUCKING AM/FREQUENCY fame)! Weird War continues it\'s commitment to subversive yet danceable music, expanding this definition to include elements of Krautrock, psychedelic rock and experimental jazz.
