SOUNDTRACK
- 'LOOK BOTH WAYS' is a new Australian feature film released nationally
on August 18th, written and directed by Sarah Watt.
- The film is a mix
of animation and live action and is set over a long, hot weekend. Seven people
are trying to deal with unexpected events. As their paths intersect and their
stories intertwine, they create an intriguing picture, which is both intimate
and universal.
- Tracks are a collection of songs mostly from Australian
artists including GERSEY, THE WAIFS, XAVIER RUDD, MIA DYSON, the SLEEPY JACKSON,
and CLARE BOWDITCH . LISA MILLER rerecorded her song "Eleven" for
the film.
- The soundtrack also contains the track "Dark Of My Moon" by
GENE CLARK of THE BYRDS fame.
- "Lonely Won't Leave Me Alone" by
THE ARLENES is the feature track. The Arlenes are formerly London based husband & wife
combo (a musical partnership that falls somewhere between GEORGE & TAMMY
and GRAM & EMMYLOU) the release of their first album STUCK ON LOVE established
The Arlenes as Britain's finest altcountry bands. Now they live in California
hence their second album GOING TO CALIFORNIA (released 2004).
- The score
cues are by the film's composer AMANDA BROWN of the GO BETWEENS.
- The
film was well received earlier this year at the ADELAIDE FILM FESTIVAL (the
film opened the festival in February and was voted the audience favourite
of the festival). The film also screens at the MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL FILM
FESTIVAL, and the the BRISBANE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, before its international
launch at TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL.
