- This is the first full-length from THE ICARUS LINE frontman JOE CARDAMONE
and guitarist DON DEVORE, aka SOULS SHE SAID. These recordings are a definite
departure and serve as the more beat driven, dark indie rock cousin to ICARUS
LINE'S beautifully gory lo-fi sound.
- Recorded in Philadelphia and right here in Australia, 'As Templar
Nites' still incorporates CARDAMONE'S haunting voice and lyrics and DEVORE'S
perfectly jagged and distorted guitar works, but this album is a real surprise.

- Neither the car-crash-scream-core-fest of the ICARUS LINE, yet not
the self-indulgence that solo projects often end up sounding like, SOULS
SHE SAID is a rock n' roll revelation. Full of spiked up and jagged art-rock
riffs that have been booted out of IGGY POP'S Nightclub, it makes spiraling
out-of-control sound great. They draw on post-punk influences but without
wearing the t-shirt of their favorite bands.
- Think of THE RAPTURE if they toughened up or DEATH FROM ABOVE 1979
if they lost the macho posing (and moustaches). The buzz on this album is
strong after an acclaimed EP on the Buddyhead label.
- THE ICARUS LINE has a sizable and loyal following here after a sold
out tour and a stack of strong selling albums, so the anticipation for and
interest in 'As Templar Nites' will be high.
