SKEWIFF's last album 'Cruise Control' was a summer sensation - with
tracks added instantly to TRIPLE J rotation. MERRICK AND ROSSO even used
tracks as the opening theme to their hit TV show!
Now JALAPENO RECORDINGS unleash the third studio album from the daddies
of the lounge-hop scene Skeewiff.
Once again their music takes a firm glance in the rear-view mirror
towards Northern Soul and Mod classics for inspiration, providing a perfect
antidote to the banging sound of the club main rooms.
The album features a few collaborations, with "Triumph Stag" featuring
the keyboard talents of ALAN "THE HAWK" HAWKSHAW (legendary SERGE
GAINSBOURG arranger) and "Love Power" featuring the sugar sweet
vocals of CHARLISE ROOKWOOD.
"Soul Bossanova" is a faithful and respectful update of the
QUINCY JONES classic (famously sampled by THE DREAM WARRIORS) and the clever
remake of "Man of Constant Sorrow", which originally came about
as a live mix dropping the accapella from the "O Brother Where Art Thou" soundtrack
over some Skeewiff beats and was included on the 2004 TRIPLE J HOTTEST 100
CD.
