JAWBONE is a one-man-band sonic assault from Detroit that has a sound that strips the blues to its bare bones with a primeval stomp. It's the missing link between LIGHTNING HOPKINS, ZOOT HORN ROLLO and THE WHITE STRIPES.
Released in 2004, his debut album 'Dang Blues', immediately caught the attention of JOHN PEEL who invited him over for Maida Vale sessions and happily told anyone who'd listen that it was one of the finest releases of the year. His support did not go amiss and Jawbone's subsequent tour of the UK was a great success, winning him a loyal following right across the country and two very honourable appearances in the top twenty of Peel's final Festive 50.
Jawbone returned the favour and paid his respects to the late 'n' great DJ with an incendiary slot at the Peel Day show at London's Queen Elizabeth Hall alongside THE FALL, LAURA CANTRELL, SUPER FURRY ANIMALS and NEW ORDER.
The new album 'Hauling' is the sort of follow up his fans have been waiting for. Recorded once again in his basement it's a no frills but all thrills combo of rhythm 'n' booze that Jawbone himself describes as "pre-last war post-next war blues"
