Two re-issues of TIED & TICKLED TRIO albums originally released on the small Weilheim-based label PAYOLA. These albums were released in 1996 and 1999 and became important to both indie rock and electronic music lovers. Two the group, MARKUS and MICHA ACHER, are part of THE NOTWIST - one of the bands mapping alternative music in Germany. The others that make up the band are JOHANNES ENDERS and ULRICH WAGENHEIM who have studied jazz and composition, ANDREAS GERTH who has worked as an artist and sculptor and CASPER BRANDNER, a well-known drummer in electronic and analogue projects. 'Tied & Ticked Trio' is the group's original debut, and highlights their new way of re-arranging old uncle jazz at least for European listeners. In some directions "EA1 EA2" is the consequent follow-up to the self-titled first album. The different influences of The Tied & Tickled Trio are clearly separated: sensitive jazz without fear of pleasant soundings, noisy but carefully measured electronics and the polyrhythmic drumming of MARKUS ACHER and CASPER BRANDNER, who had both started the Tied & Tickled Trio as a drums-only duo in 1994.
