Fourth full-length from Vancouver-based sound artist SCOTT MORGAN.
He continues to refine the visual aspect of his performances and recently
released a download-only drone album on net label, ONE.
An unstructured quality moves around this release, and it culminates
in a beautiful album. There are various players who contribute to this album,
namely JASON ZUMPANO, STEVE WOOD, AND JOSH LINDSTROM. The tracks are thematically
based around growth and transition such as the track "Charlie which
was composed after seeing/hearing my daughter Sadie through ultrasound while
she was still in the womb."
Kranky is an exceptional label which always offers first-rate post
rock releases this is no exception. The fact that 'Plume' is superb from
beginning to end is certainly no surprise then and merely reinforces the
fact that Loscil is one of the treasures of the Organic / Electronica scene.
Press for 'First Narrows': THE WIRE "..a work of drifting coherence
and gently blurred boundaries" ... PLAN B "a barbit-blanket-blankout
of atmospheria that quietly gets on with being gently unprepossessing. And
that ain't easy" ...
