Is there an Australian band that straddles the dance/indie divide better than the MIDNIGHT JUGGERNAUTS? Finally, the Melbourne duo unleashes their 2nd mini album, 'Secrets Of The Universe', this time on their own SIBERIA label. They have sharpened their game immensely on this follow up, blending a moody and rocky electro sound with an incredibly catchy pop edge.
The near-heavenly, disco flavoured "Shadows" (currently getting flogged on TRIPLE J) has to be the most infectious Australian tune released this year, while "45 And Rising" combines over the top '80s guitar riffing with disco smarts and vocoder vocals, rivaling DAFT PUNK at their best. Also included alongside four new tracks is a killer remix of the sinister "Devil Within" by their good friends THE PRESETS, plus a video of "45 And Rising" to boot!
The band, already a fave on TRIPLE J, have had tracks included on many compilations, most notably FBi's 'Kill Your Idols' & MODULAR's scene defining comp 'Leave Them All Behind'.
They are one of the hardest touring acts in country: they supported WOLFMOTHER and CUT COPY on their national tour, they just finished a national support with GERLING and this is in addition to an amazing range of rock and club acts they have played with, such as ANNIE, CHROMEO, DEATH FROM ABOVE 1979, ELECTRIC 6 & TRANS AM! Not only that, they are about to depart on their first headline national tour to support this EP.
