FOO FIGHTERS' drummer and 2IC, TAYLOR HAWKINS, is one of rock music's most prominent figures. Now he takes a leaf from his boss DAVE GROHL's book by releasing a superb debut solo album from behind the kit.
His band is THE COATTAIL RIDERS (featuring CHRIS CHANEY of JANE'S ADDICTION), a hi-energy rock 'n' roll trio that embraces the finest elements of pop and classic rock.
They sourced inspiration from rock icons QUEEN, the energy of DEVO and the drumming technique of the POLICE's STUART COPELAND. And the album is indeed a dedication to the '70s rock radio that Hawkins grew up with, only with a more hyper-edged, Foo-styled sound!
Hawkins recently performed his own song "Cold Day In The Sun" within the Foo Fighters live set, and on their last album, 'In Your Honour'. This solo album is the logical progression.
