Detroit's most infamous Rock 'n' Rollers - ELECTRIC SIX - return to the arena with their third and best album to date! Mixing Garage, Disco, Punk, New Wave and Metal, these pranksters produce a raucous mix of lyrically hilarious and seriously rocking party anthems!
Electric Six first came into the spotlight with their UK smash hit "Danger, High Voltage", which hit # 2 in the UK singles chart. The single also garnered the band public attention for pre-fame JACK WHITE from THE WHITE STRIPES singing backup vocals.
Their breakout album 'Fire', released on XL RECORDS (THE WHITE STRIPES, M.I.A, BASEMENT JAXX, DEVENDRA BANHART, etc), also featured the smash hit "Gay Bar" which reached # 5 on the UK Singles chart and was a big Triple J and commercial radio hit here. The album made it into several best-of-2003 lists, as well as reaching the UK Top 10. Another single, "Dance Commander", gave Electric Six its third UK Top 40 single.
Electric Six are known for their witty sense of humour and take on macho flippancy and tongue-in-cheek pomposity. They also have a reputation for a killer live show, have successfully toured Australia to rave reviews, and are hotly tipped to tour again soon!
The video for first single is the hilarious "I Buy The Drugs" which is being serviced to national television stations now. Expect to see this clip in the coming weeks.
