ELECTRONIC
After releasing a number of solo singles, SHERARD INGRAM worked with CARL CRAIG, ANTHONY SHAKIR and KENNY DIXON, JR. for URBAN TRIBE's first full-length album on MO WAX 'The Collapse of Modern Culture', regraded by many as a classic of electronic soul.
He is best known for one of the all time great Detroit Techno classics, "Covert Action", which appeared on the legendary RETROACTIVE imprint in 1990, and reissued by PLANET E.
Prior to that he's worked on one of KIRK DEGIORGIO's New Electronica albums, all the way back to the beginning with JUAN ATKINS and "NASA" in 1987. Most people would recognize him today by his DREXCIYAN DJ STINGRAY moniker, as his electric sessions have entertained world wide in recent years, and DREXCIYA is the best reference point for this album.
This album is already being praised by those lucky enough to have heard it on promo and during the recent SQUAREPUSHER UK tour where it got played before his sets. There's also been some keen interest on the new UNDERGROUND RESISTANCE forum.
"Producer Sherard Ingram may be a shadowy figure, but he was instrumental in the early formation of techno and has collaborated with Carl Craig, Anthony Shakir and Juan Atkins. ¬¬¬¬" IDJ "If you're curious to find out what the real sound of Detroit Electro is like then this will tune you in."
