The Meadowlands
Etch N Sketch
ALT COUNTRY
THE WRENS are an American based four piece who have been a band for over fifteen years, living together for much of that time.
'Meadowlands' is already considered a classic album to those in the know. It was originally released in 2003 to serious critical acclaim and went on to sell in excess of 100,000 records in the USA.
During the recording sessions the deaths of a number of the bands close relatives in quick succession formed the core reason for the band's all-or-nothing approach, treating every performance and recording as if it's their last.
They are signed to ABSOLUTELY KOSHER in US, home to SWORDS PROJECT and LOMAX in the UK home to the none other than the GO BETWEENS.
This is a re-mastered version of Meadowlands and comes with an additional two bonus tracks.
THE UK GUARDIAN "The Pixies, The Smiths, The White Stripes, Nirvana, The Pogues, REM...The Wrens wiped the floor with them...[they are] the greatest live band in the world." ...
9/10 NME "The Wrens are indeed a revelation: a sound ripped apart, reassembled and brought fantastically to life by a truly individual quartet. A rare treasure." ... MOJO "The Meadowlands is a masterpiece: a seamless blend of shockingly intense, in-your-face sounds and emotions." ... THE SUN "This has a confident swagger and endless hooks"
