'Wandering Eyes' is a sparkling alt country album that highlights this brilliant new voice and her poignant songwriting. Inspired by the likes of LUCINDA WILLIAMS, GILLIAN WELCH AND EMMY LOU HARRIS, a debut not to be missed.
Growing up on a diet of country music from artists such as LEFTY FRIZZELL, HANK WILLIAMS, ROGER MILLER, GEORGE JONES, DOLLY PARTON, LORETTA LYNN. ANGELA DESVAUX's musical career began right in her family living room, her father was a pianist, her brother a guitar player and her mother a singer, the family would often perform for the small local fishing community of Cape Breton, it was in this environment that Desveaux first found her voice.
After a short teenage rebellion against her country roots, but shortly returned after listening to artists such as FLYING BURRITO BROTHERS, THE BYRDS, GRAM PARSONS and SON VOLT.
After re-locating to Montreal she slipped a demo of some of her songs to HOWARD BILERMAN, recording engineer, owner of HOTEL2TANGO STUDIO and former drummer of the ARCADE FIRE. He was so impressed that he not only offered to produce her album, but offered to play drums for her as well. The album also features the talents of BRIAN PAULSON (SLINT, SUPERCHUNK, WILCO, ARCHERS OF LOAF) mixing and engineering. The result is a seamless blend of country and roots woven together that result in warm, well-crafted pop songs.
