It's been several years since we last heard from the duo of OSCAR SIMONSSON and MAGNUS ZINGMARK aka KOOP.

This electro jazz swing Stockholm based duo's first album 'Waltz for Koop' (2001) was lauded by such artist as JAZZANOVA and KRUDER & DORFMEISTER and found its way into the hearts of more than 160,000 record buyers across the globe. Then followed the world tours, and the BLUE NOTE sets in Tokyo and a tonne of remixes

'Koop Island' cements the duo's exploratory nostalgic jazz style this time with a Carribean twist. The album delivers a gorgeous fusion of melodic arrangements.

"We play jazz", says Oscar. "It's as simple as that. We can't do pop, electronica, techno or whatever because we're just no good at it."

On their travels towards 'Koop Islands' they were accompanied by an inner circle of friends, some of whom you may remember from 'Waltz For Koop'. The amazing vocalists YUKIMI NAGANO, ANE BRUN and MIKAEL SUNDIN - appear on the album alongside ex-GALLIANO main man ROB GALLAGHER (aka EARL ZINGER).
