ROCK
Australian duo BLACK CAB is singer and producer ANDREW COATES and guitarist JAMES LEE.
Black
Cab's sound is a heady brew of raw guitars, early'70's style drums,
plus eerie electronic and industrial audio treatments inspired by late
'60's and early '70's Americana
Their 2004 debut album, 'Altamont Diary' was released to great critical acclaim in Australia, UK and Europe.
Their
second album, 'Jesus East', moves the band's sound forward via pulsing
'70's Germanic drum grooves, multi-layered guitar loops and subtle
eastern sounds.
'Jesus East' evokes ghosts of THE VELVET
UNDERGROUND, CAN, NEU and coolest BEATLE, GEORGE HARRISON's fascination
with Eastern sounds.
The new album also features some great
guest musicians including members of EVEN, HIGH PASS FILTER, REGISTERED
NURSE, UNDERGROUND LOVERS and a spoken word by SAM CUTLER who road
managed the ROLLING STONES during the Altamont period -a nice tie in to
the bands previous Altamont themed 'ALTAMONT DIARY' release of 2004!
