LAUGHING OUTLAW presents the remarkable debut album from Sydney singer/songwriter GEORGE BYRNE, 'Foreign Water'.
After Byrne was featured as a TRIPLE 'J Next Crop Artist' he scored some very high profile tour supports with MISSY HIGGINS, LIOR, KATIE MELUA, THE CHURCH, THIRSTY MERC, ALEX LLOYD, EPICURE, JEN CLOHER and is about to tour with OLD MAN RIVER.
'Foreign Water' was produced by the very in demand JONATHAN BURNSIDE (THE SLEEPY JACKSON) and TIM POWLES (THE CHURCH) and features guest appearances from HOLLY THROSBY and LIOR.
'Foreign Water' follows on from 2004's 'Iron Skies' EP, featuring the TRIPLE J and FBI high rotation favourite "Goldmine". "Paralysed" and current single "Foreign Water" (all three tracks are featured on this album) were both immediately added to TRIPLE J and FBI.
His warm, intimate & rootsy songs have been drawing comparisons to RYAN ADAMS and 'Seachange' era BECK, while his vocal style recalls a younger DAVID GILMOUR.
The album will be launched in Sydney on July 28th at the Hopetoun Hotel, and Melbourne August 27th at the Northcote Social Club.
